Open Data

Open Data refers to data that anyone can access, use or share. We believe that the data we hold will be put to greater use if we share it with our wider community.

Our Open Data Strategy

Our Open Data Strategy sets out how we intend to use open data to deliver value, whether that’s economic, social or environmental. This involves releasing high-value datasets, fostering collaboration through our open data program, and cultivating an open data culture among our colleagues and stakeholders, spanning commercial, research, public organisations, our customers and beyond.

This document intends to serve as a summarised version of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water’s Open Data Strategy. In this document, you will find key information about why we have created an Open Data Strategy and how we will approach the implementation of our open data initiative.

Stream

Stream is a data institution, made up of 16 water companies, that is helping develop data sharing infrastructure for the water sector. Stream’s vision is to unlock the potential of water data to benefit customers, society, and the environment.

As a member of Stream, we are collaborating with other water companies, organisations from legal, energy and technology sectors, and stakeholders to drive innovation and enhance performance within the water sector.

The Stream Portal offers easy access to wide range of water related datasets, and a collaborative community dedicated to water sustainability and innovation.
