Dŵr Cymru, the not-for-profit water utility, today announces that Mike Davis is standing down from his role as Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and Executive Director on the Board, with effect from 30th June 2025 after over 20 years with the company.

Having joined the company in 2001, Mike has held a number of roles including Financial Controller, Regulation Director and, since 2020, the role of Chief Finance Officer.

Peter Perry, Group Chief Executive Officer, said: "On behalf of all of my colleagues across Dŵr Cymru, I would like to thank Mike for his significant contribution during his long tenure with us as a member of the Executive Team and our Board as Chief Finance Officer since 2020. Mike’s impact on Welsh Water has been vast having led four price review processes and the securing of over £3bn of finance since 2020 to fund our ambitious investment programmes. Mike has shown strong leadership across the business, and we are very grateful for his diligence, passion, hard work and impact.

Jane Hanson CBE, Chair of the Board, added: “Mike has played a key role at Dŵr Cymru for over 20 years. Not only has he provided strong and wise counsel to the Board, but his leadership of the Finance function and passion for the purpose and values of Dŵr Cymru have been demonstrable. The Board has valued Mike’s commitment and achievements greatly and we thank him sincerely for his significant contribution to the business.

Whilst the company commences a search for Mike’s successor, Samantha James will continue in her role as interim CFO which she took on in November 2024.
