Denbighshire

We’re investing around £4.5 million in the Denbighshire water network. This will help continue to provide our customers in the area with a more reliable supply of clean drinking water.

Over the next few months, we will be working in a number of different areas in Denbighshire including, Cyffylliog, Betws Gwerfyl Goch, Llandrillo, Cynwyd and surrounding areas.

Why are we doing this?

One of the main things we do at Welsh Water is aim to provide you with a first-class supply of drinking water every time you open the tap. To make sure we continue doing this, we’re investing £4.5 million to upgrade the water pipes in your community. This essential work will help to improve the drinking water network in your area and keep your water flowing.

Where will the work take place?

We’re upgrading around 13km of clean water pipes in Denbighshire. This work will help to ensure security of supply and to alleviate issues with loss of supply or low water pressure currently experienced by some customers in the area. We’ll be using a combination of traditional and innovative methods so that we can get the work done as quickly as possible whilst trying our best to minimise disruption.

You can see where we’ll be working along with regular updates on the work via in your area and search for your postcode.

When are we working?

The work will begin over the next few months and will be completed by the middle of 2026.

Our contractors

We’ll be working with OCU Group to help us get the work done. They’ll be working Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 17.30pm, but sometimes they may need to work outside of these hours and during the weekends to get the work done quickly.

Your water

Throughout most of the work there should be no interruptions to your supply. However, due to the nature of this work, it might be necessary for us to turn off your water supply for a short period of time (up to 3 hours). If we need to do this, we will let you know via a text message on the same day.

Please make sure that we have an up-to-date mobile or landline telephone number for your household. You can check this and update your contact details by contacting us on live chat on our website or by calling our 24-hour contact number 0800 052 0130.

Traffic

There will be times when we do need to work in the road, and we’ll need to have temporary road closures or traffic lights in place to keep our team safe while they work. If we do need to close a road, we will make sure that there are plenty of signs to direct motorist and we’ll do our best to finish the work as soon as we can to re-open the road.

During this time, we’ll make sure we do all we can to keep disruptions to a minimum and there will be regular updates regarding the details of the road closures on our facebook page and in your area. Please be assured that we’ll get the work in the roads done as quickly as we can .

While we are working in an area, you may not see us working every day, but rest assured we are continuing to work behind the scenes testing and sampling the water in the new pipes, which may take a few days. During this time, our site teams will be working in different areas and will return once they have the test results to finish off the work.
