Youngsters take part in workshop on water quality

A group of Year 11 pupils from Ysgol Bro Teifi in Llandysul have been treated to a workshop on water quality thanks to Welsh Water’s Catchment Team.

Project manager Nigel Elgar led the workshop and explained to the students why they should care about their water supplies.

He said: “It was clear from the comments made by the students that they had already covered the importance of clean drinking water for human health in school lessons. Many of the students had connections with farming and were able to relate to some of the challenges faced by Welsh Water and appreciate how we all need to work together to safeguard supplies into the future."

The workshop was held as part of an event for current and potential agricultural students at Gelli Aur Agricultural College, just outside Llandeilo. Partnership events such as these are crucial for the Catchment Team in terms of fostering closer links with partner organisations as well as informing our future customers of what it takes to provide three millions customers every day with wholesome drinking water.
