Middle Dee Diffuse Pollution Project

The Middle Dee Rural Diffuse Pollution Project aims to reduce the amount of phosphate and other diffuse pollutants entering the watercourses within the Worthenbury and Wych sub-catchment.

The project aims to do this by providing targeted farm visits to review and discuss clean and dirty water management practices.

Farm advisory visits will be followed with the production of individually tailored Water Management Improvement Plans (WMIPs), which will specify the priority actions for the site, highlighting environmental issues and farm business costs / benefits. The WMIPs will be created with the aim of reducing phosphates and other pollutants from entering the 4 waterbodies.

The project will also produce a project template which can be replicated across the wider catchment and used by other organisations conducting similar projects.
