Dr Wei Zhang is a Senior Lecturer and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Individual Fellow (funded by European Commission H2020 program) at College of Engineering, Swansea University. Dr Wei Zhang has a proven track record in the development of novel water monitoring and treatment technologies, including a novel capacitive deionization (CDI) technology for inland brackish water desalination and heavy metal removal (funded by the National Centre of Excellence in Desalination, Australia). For the last five years, Dr Wei Zhang has been at the forefront of developing electrochemical sensors using various nanomaterials for environmental water monitoring, including heavy metals (i.e. lead and cadmium), disinfection by-products and algal toxins detection.
