Martin Hughes is a Harlech Community Councillor, an independent member of the Snowdonia National Park Standards Committee, Treasurer of Meeting of Friends in Wales (Quakers) and a trustee of British Friends of the Quaker Council for European Affairs. He has had a career as a Chartered Public Finance Accountant in public sector and charity finance and management, including being finance director of Coleg Harlech WEA 2000-08. Following a career break as a family carer he has been an energy broker and graduated with an MBA(Distinction) in Environmental Management in 2015 and became a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. Former member of the Chartered Management’s Institute’s Cymru/Wales Board. His current activities include: rambling; history; U3A; sustainability; research.
